I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree broadly focused on philosophy, and more specifically focused on artificial intelligence and the science of complexity. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with art mostly through painting and the use of artificial intelligence to generate interesting images (and the combination of those two).

I spent 20+ years as an entrepreneur, having started companies in technology (software development), finance (high-frequency trading), and sustainability (renewable energy and real food). Currently, I serve on several company boards and invest through New Frontier Holdings, which I founded with my wife Kris in 2010. I’ve also helped to establish investing platforms in both venture capital and real estate.

On the philanthropic side, I serve on the board of Acumen Fund (most recently as board chair) and helped to open a dog rescue in partnership with a local rescue on our farm in Wisconsin.
